“‘the largest game of global power in human history’”...
"... competition currently underway between the Middle Kingdom and the United States..."
“Rock-a-bye, baby, in the treetop
“When the wind blows – [and be assured, the hard East wind doth and gonna’ blow] –
“the cradle will rock
“When the bough breaks
“Down will come baby, cradle and all” 1
“The competition currently underway between the Middle Kingdom and the United States,” writes Chinese Colonel Liu Mingfu, author of his “bestselling book, The China Dream,” as author Michael Pillsbury relates, “‘is ‘the largest game of global power in human history.’” 2
“‘China,” states the said colonel, “‘once called the sleeping lion in the East, but now we have been awakened, and Xi Jinping is the leading lion of the packs, who dare to fight anytime.” 3
“‘China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man …. They’re not bad folks, folks…. They’re not competition for us.’ – Joe Biden, Iowa, 2019.” 4
Learn a lesson, Joe, from a “brash” pronouncement from one of China’s most prominent scholars of international relations: “‘China is a dragon, America is an eagle. Britain is a lion. When the dragon wakes up, the others are all snacks.’” 5
“The Chinese Communist Party,” write co-authors of HIDDEN HAND, EXPOSING HOW THE COMMUNIST PARTY IS RESHAPING THE WORLD, Clive Hamilton and Mareike Ohlberg, “is determined to transform the international order, to shape the world in its own image,” and to do so, the authors provide, “without a shot being fired….
“Whereas analyst on both sides of the Atlantic,” they add, “continue to agonise [sic] over whether to label China an opponent or even an enemy, the CCP decided this matter thirty years ago.” 6
“Democratic institutions and the global order built after the Second World War,” relate Hamilton/Ohlberg, “have proven to be more fragile than imagined, and are vulnerable to the new weapons of political warfare now deployed against them.” 7 (emphasis added)
The authors add, “The Chinese Communist Party is exploiting the weaknesses of democratic systems in order to undermine them … while many in the West remain reluctant to acknowledge this, democracies urgently need to become more resilient if they are to survive.”8
“The threat posed by the CCP affects the right of all to live without fear.” 9
“America is being played by China,” writes Michael Pillsbury, “Americans know nothing of the game’s rules. Most of us,” he states, “have never heard of shi. We don’t know we are losing the game. In fact, we don’t even know that the game has begun.” 10
Mr. Pillsbury calls it a game; I say we’d do well to also call it war…
“Nothing is definite,” write co-authors Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui, in their book, UNRESTRICTED WARFARE, “the game has already changed.” 11
The “game” the just cited co-authors are referring to is the same “game” Mr. Pillsbury speaks to above. It is the competition Colonel Liu Mingfu, as cited above, speaks of when he speaks of “the competition currently underway between the Middle Kingdom and the United States.” It is the game the same colonel calls “‘the largest game of global power in human history,’” as above cited. (Emphasis added.)
Moreover, it is the “matter” to which co-authors Hamilton/Ohlberg, cited above, speak to stating, “the CCP decided … [on] thirty years ago.”
And that matter, that game is the “game” of War.
“War,” declare the authors of “Unrestricted Warfare, “will no longer be what it was originally.” 12 (RELATED:"... the battlefield is omnipresent..." ---- War with China...)
Hence, the war that the Chinese are now engaged in is one that calls for “going beyond all limits and boundaries.” 13
War, its face blurred –“ the battlefield … everywhere.” “All the boundaries lying between the two worlds of war and non-war, of military and non-military … destroyed.” 14
War, “combining the battlefield and non-battlefield, warfare and non-warfare, military and non-military … financial wars and terrorist attacks, or simply,” provide the authors, “combining Schwarzkopf + Soros + Xiaomolisi … + bin Laden.
“This then is our real hand of cards.” 15
The authors further state, “If in the days to come, mankind has no choice but to engage in war,” then, state the colonels, war “can no longer be carried out in the ways with which we are familiar.” 16
The above just referenced book was 1st published in 1999 in Beijing. Be assured that trigger day that set afoot the execution of this new type of warfare, as is spoken to above, it has come and gone.
Thus, the war now afoot is one guided by the guild-lines of that which the title of the book states, “Unrestricted Warfare.”
“When people begin to lean toward and rejoice in the reduced use of military force to resolve conflicts, war will” then, state the same authors, “be reborn in another form and in another arena.”17
Hence, “semi-warfare,” “quasi-warfare,” “and sub-warfare, that is,” the same relate, “the embryonic for of another kind of warfare.” 18
“War,” they further declare, “has undergone the changes of modern technology,” and therefore the “market system” of war “will be launched even more in atypical forms.” 19
That is a glimpse into the war China is executing against the United States.
For such reasons, as the last above-cited authors provide, “we are seeing an increase in political, economic, and technological violence.” And that said violence is war engaged. It is so, irrespective of the fact, we in the West, the lion’s share of us are unware, blind to the fact we are at war with China.
Though we be so, China is well aware of the war they are now engaged in.
Thus, we’d do well to regard what the Chinese know well. Thus, what these students and artist of war declare: “Regardless of the form the violence takes, war is war.”
And therefore, irrespective of “the change in the external appearance” of war, this new war will all the same abide “by the principles of war.”
It will do so because, as stated, it is war.
“War,” moreover, as the authors noted above declare, “no longer ‘using armed forces to compel the enemy to submit to one’s will,’ but rather,” war guided by the new principles of war. Which are “‘using all means, including armed forces,” but not limited to them, thus war , as touched on above, using “non-armed force, military and non-military … lethal and non-lethal means.” 20
“‘Using all means … to compel the enemy to accept one’s interest.’” 21
And we – America – are the “long-coveted target” of this new war China is executing. Executing it to see China be the head, the care-taker, if you will, of that conveyed in China’s classical name, that being “the great concept of all-under-heaven [tianxia 1131 0007].” 22
